Sushil is a London based Financial Services Regulatory lawyer who joined Gowling WLG in July 2018, having spent eight years working within the Supervision and Enforcement Divisions of the Financial Conduct Authority. She has a wealth of regulatory experience across a broad range of contentious and non-contentious issues, offering clients a holistic approach to regulatory compliance and the ability to spot risks before they arise.
Sushil advises on all aspects of financial services regulatory law and has a particular interest in FinTech, advising a number of clients on regulatory considerations for ICOs, blockchain and crypto-assets since joining. Particular experience includes advising FinTech start-ups with novel business models on whether their activities fall within the FCA's regulatory perimeter, general FCA licencing requirements and on firms' money laundering obligations when issuing or exchanging tokens. She also regularly advises large scale FinTechs in the e-commerce space on the UK's Payment Services and Consumer Credit regimes.
Sushil regularly represents the firm at FinTech and blockchain events and has written a number of FinTech related client alerts and articles.
