Gyeyok Haruna is a Data & AI Governance & Compliance Lead with experience delivering data governance and AI ethics programmes across aviation, finance, and innovation ecosystems. She currently leads strategic data and AI governance efforts at British Airways and previously held data and governance roles at Lloyds Bank and AfriLabs. She is the creator of the Governance Gearbox, an original five-gear framework for shifting AI governance from a compliance burden into a strategic driver. She introduced it at the IRM UK Data Governance, AI & MDM Conference Europe in March 2026, where it drew strong audience engagement and was featured on the IRM UK website and newsletter. She has been invited back to speak at IRM UK’s Data & AI Conference in November 2026. She mentors young people on AI Ethics through the Global Teckhaton programme and volunteers with Girls in Data, contributing to increasing female representation in the data profession.
