Simon is a career banker who diversified from corporate transactional banking to digital whilst working at the Co-operative Bank and finally into the Open Banking space. Twenty five years in a bank servicing high volume, low value customers gave him a unique view of the challenges faced.  He developed an obsession with fraud, the causes and the resolutions having had to console and resolve mass corporate fraud incidents.    A tenure at the Open Banking Implementation Entity and then at Pay.Uk has given him a unique cross industry view. From standards to practice to impact and resolution and mitigation.   He is now Chief Strategy Officer at obconnect who offer the entire range of Open banking products including Confirmation of Payee. A Uk product which has become a global export for the business.  He has become an expert in the usage of Open banking and associated services with a focus on resolving and preventing fraud.   He is an advisor to multiple bodies about Open banking , Fraud, confirmation of payee and data exchange including HMRC, the Finance lease association and as new member of the Bank of England Standards advisory panel.  His goal is to make any message simple, consumable and logical.  Because the fraudsters do.
