Sophie Wadsworth is a Vice President in BNY’s Global Payments & Trade Strategy team, based in London. She helps shape strategy and growth across the business globally. Partnering closely with senior executives, product teams and sales leaders, Sophie focuses on strategic planning, business transformation, operating model design, and the execution of key commercial priorities. Prior to joining BNY, Sophie held strategy and business development roles at JPMorgan and fintech startup ALT21, spanning transaction banking, cross-border payments, fintech partnerships, and commercial growth. Earlier in her career, she served for eight years in the British Army, holding leadership roles across engineering, bomb disposal, psychological operations, and overseas deployments. Sophie specialises in transaction banking strategy, digital assets, fintech, and go-to-market strategy. She has led initiatives covering digital asset strategy, market opportunity assessment, commercial operating model design and growth strategy across payments, cash management, and trade. A regular speaker and contributor at industry conferences and events, she is passionate about the future of financial services, and the role emerging technologies will play in reshaping the industry.
