Tell us about yourself: Comparison Creator is an independent, privately owned software development company specialising in providing an outsourced solution for product comparison websites. We work with a range of businesses and support both single product comparisons and tailor-made complete comparison websites. We are committed to ensuring our comparison solutions offer consumers a 'true and whole of market' product comparison and the ability for consumers to define products to meet their needs.
What is your advice to people seeking to kickstart their own business?
Hard work and determination is key. Keep going and ensure you surround yourself with people you can trust.
Who do you admire most as a business (in or outside of the start-up world)?
Admiral Group. I started in Cardiff in 1994 when there was only 50 staff. Now they employ over 11,500 globally.
What are your goals for the next 18 months?
Growing the business to £20m gross revenue is our main goal.
What is your greatest achievement as business thus far?
2019 so far. It took 8 years to secure 7 websites live. Already in 2019 (June 19) we have secured a further 9 website builds.

What's your 'origin story'?
Launched in Cwmbran in 2010, founder Steve Jones saw a gap for comparison websites having worked in the insurance industry to increase revenue through the introduction of more niche products. Following a successful career in the insurance industry spanning more than 25 years. Comparison Creator is a dedicated team of ten and has found a niche in a competitive market.
What's been your greatest challenge in growth to date?
Initially setting up the business with no investment. There has been a few tough years, but we managed to get through by knowing our products and ensuring we had the best systems in place.
Do you have customers yet? If not, how far into your business lifecycle are you?
Yes, since securing our first contract with Compare the Market in 2010 we have grown our client base that now includes all major UK Price Comparison Websites. We manage 16 websites for the top 6 comparison sites in the UK
How have you funded your growth to date?
Initially through private investment, but then an MBO in 2017 allowed us to accelerate growth and opportunities.
